Grand Magnolia Child Development Internship

Grand Magnolia seeks an energetic, engaged, and creative child development intern to support the mission and values of this play-driven learning home for young explorers. The child development intern will assume the following responsibilities:

Develop a, broadly-defined, creative project focused on early childhood development. Potential projects could encompass a wide range of topics such as: designing a performing arts program for toddlers, a research project on children’s cognitive development, or designing a collective art project with the children.


Engage in at least 10 hours a week of direct early education experiences with a small cohort of toddlers.


Supervise and monitor the safety and hygiene of children.


Organize activities to stimulate children’s creativity.


Assist in maintaining schedule of activities and help on learning excursions.


Monitor each child’s development (socially, emotionally, and physically) and communicate concerns as needed.


Keep detailed, daily and comprehensive records for children.


Communicate effectively with current and prospective families.

Minimum Education: High school degree. Bachelor’s degree and/or early childhood education-related degree or significant experience in childcare preferred.

After completing the interview and prior to finalizing the position, the candidate will also be required to submit verification of education and certifications, criminal background check report, federal fingerprint report, First Aid/CPR certification card for infants, children, and adults.
